The Migration Research Program at Koç University (MiReKoc) was established in 2004 with the aim of developing the research capacity to address migration issues in Turkey, with the collaboration of Koç University and the Foundation for Population, Migration and Environment (BMU). Today, MiReKoc is a fully functioning program which provides an institutionalized hub for Turkey-related migration research in Turkey and elsewhere. As a grant-giving program, MiReKoc is open to scholars and researchers on a competitive basis. The research strengths of MiReKoc projects range from causes and consequences of international migration and transnationalism to the integration of migrants in various receiving settings; from brain drain to forced migration and the migration-citizenship nexus.
